Welcome to Our School

At Catterline School we take pride in the fact that this is a happy, industrious school with a real sense of team spirit between children, staff, parents/carers and the wider school community.

The school is set in the coastal village of Catterline, an attractive rural location, 15 miles South of Aberdeen and 5 miles South of Stonehaven. Within the village there is a beautiful beach and harbour, a restaurant, a church, an Air B and B, caravan parks, horse livery yard, and a well-utilised playing field with a newly modernised play park. Catterline School is also the zoned school for children living in the neighbouring village of Kinneff which is a pretty, farming village and has a newly renovated Village Hall, which is about to reopen, an immense playing field and play park, The Old Kirk, and a Bed and Breakfast. The school is very much a part of the wider community who support us in so many ways.

Catterline School currently has a role of 36 pupils comprising 2 classes, providing education for children from Primary 1 – Primary 7. We presently have two multi-composite classes, a Primary 1 – 4 and a Primary 5 -7 class.

We are also pleased to be able to offer the children opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities through the school’s Running Club, Catkins Football Club and Scripture Union, as well as through Active School activities, such as Rugby, Tennis, Netball, Holiday Clubs.

Parents/carers are very supportive of the school and show a strong commitment to working in partnership with us, for example in running extra-curricular clubs, helping in the classroom and assisting in the preparation of resources. Catterline School also continues to benefit from the support of former pupils, who are involved in the running of Catkins Football Club and this year in writing a script for our Christmas Show.

We are fortunate to enjoy the support of an active Parent Group, the Catterline School Parent Group, (CSPG), who are fantastic at organising events for our children and their families, as well as being amazing at fund-raising, providing the children with super learning opportunities through their efforts.
